Facet is a chestnut Dutch Warmblood stallion, and was 17 at the time I was riding him. I began riding him so that I could learn to ride flying changes, and my mom was generous enough to allow me to keep riding and showing him. He was a fabulous teacher, and a great partner. He was patient with me, but he was a stickler for correctness. He would keep on doing counter canter until I asked correctly for a flying change, and then, and only then, would he execute one perfectly. He taught me how to be more exact with my aids, because he would respond to nothing less. However, Facet knew his job in the show ring and he would help me out whenever I needed it. He was a joy to ride. He is now retired from the competition arena, and I am no longer riding him, but I miss him all the time.
